Plan a 4-inch portal setup around your Ranger XP 1000 build
SuperATV's GDP Gen 3 portals add lift and gear reduction at the wheel hubs. For the listed Ranger XP 1000 applications, this 4-inch kit offers 15% or 30% reduction, cast or billet aluminum housings, and single- or dual-idler configurations.
Choose the gearing and housing
The 15% reduction suits a setup that places more emphasis on speed, while 30% provides a greater reduction for larger tires or more demanding terrain. Dual idlers spread gear load over an additional idler. Choose the available housing and gearing combination in the configuration options.
The reduction takes place at the hubs to reduce the load carried by upstream drivetrain components. The housings use gaskets or O-rings, a sealed input gear and a double-lipped output seal. Double-angular-contact output bearings and roller idler and drive bearings support the gear set. Steel-alloy backing plates are 5/16 inch thick.
Included components
- Four assembled portal boxes with 9310 gears, seals, output shafts, gaskets or O-rings, and thrust bearings
- Four universal hubs and stainless-steel slotted rotors with lugs
- Four steel-alloy backing plates and four steel caliper mounting plates
- Two steel steering arms
- Two caliper adapter plates for applicable models
- Extended brake lines and required hardware, including a recessed castle-nut socket
- Frame stiffener only when selected in the product configuration
Tire size and supporting suspension
SuperATV lists these maximum tire sizes for the stated suspension combinations, measured at full compression and full steering turn. Treat the suspension requirements as part of the recommendation, not as optional extras.
- 28.5-inch tires: stock suspension
- 29.5-inch tires: 3-inch lift kit
- 31-inch tires: 1.5-inch forward front A-arms
- 31-inch tires: 1.5-inch forward front A-arms with a 3-inch lift kit
- 36-inch tires: 6-inch lift kit
The supplier notes that larger tires may require trimming or may rub. Check the wheel requirements and model-specific exclusions in the fitment information before ordering.
SuperATV lists a limited lifetime manufacturer warranty for this portal kit; the manufacturer terms and exclusions apply.
Before you order
Start with your exact year and trim, then check wheel clearance and the tire-and-suspension combinations below. A 4-inch portal lift alone does not establish the maximum tire size for every build.
